i am interested at staying at your college camp site during the sailing events at weymouth but could you email me to let me know if it is possible to pitch a motorhome there and if there are electic hook ups, it would be for 2 adults and a dog thank you

  2. Hi Peter,

Unfortunately our sites are tent only under the conditions of the Permitted Development Act and as they are on sports ground we cannot allow dogs. We do offer pre-erected tents if that’s of interest, the cost to hire these is £25 per night for a good size four man tent.

Is there reliable transportation to and from the campsite to areas around town, and into the town? We are traveling from out of the country and will not have a car but totally reliant on public transportation, we really want to pop over from London though for a day or two to catch the sailing events.

  4. Hi Sophie,

Weymouth College is in walking distance to Nothe Fort, the best ticketed viewing spot for the sailing and town is also in walking distance of the site, although there will be regular buses into town and the station. There are also a number of non-ticketed spots to catch the sailing as well.

  5. Trudy Davies says:

Will you be open from the 9th of July as the info on the website says July 26th- Auguat 13th?
    Thank you

  6. Hi Trudy,

We are currently reviewing whether to open our sites earlier as we need to ensure there is enough demand as potentially we may need to open another site. We want to help and are collating details on our Facebook Poll, if possible please could you complete this? You may need to scroll down the page http://www.facebook.com/CampingAtTheGames Thanks

I am going to be a Gamesmaker at Weymouth and wondered what your website means by Gamesmaker Special? Can you please explain.

  8. Nigel says:

Will dogs (small & friendly !) be allowed on the campsite ?

  9. Jill Fenton says:

Can I connect my hair dryer and straighteners to a socket in the showers?

  10. Hi Nigel,

Unfortunately we cannot allow dogs as this is against the policies of the sports club. Thanks for your query.

  11. Hi Jill,

There will be access to electricity points but this will be limited, thanks.

  12. Jen says:

I”m still waiting for my shifts to be confirmed, if I book up for camping now and then have to cancel for any reason will I lose my deposit?

  13. If you cancel completely then yes, you would not get any money back. But you can book then change the dates etc depending on your shifts which is what most Games Makers are doing.

  14. debra.vincent says:

  15. Hi Debra,

  16. Katie says:

Hi, I’m volunteering with the Weymouth and Portland Ambassador programme and was just wondering if I’d be able to leave my car in the car park till the end of my shift on the day I’m due to leave the campsite? I’m traveling in from several hours away and public transport is far too expensive for me so I have to bring my car.

  17. that will fine, let the campsite know when you check in.

  18. Martin says:

Just checking i’m not getting mixwd up, your site says its a 10min cycle but google maps says 5.2miles. In the 1xuniform i’ve got for 5straight 11hr shifts. Not sure how practical this will be. My first shift is 2.30pm til 11.30, what time can i get on to site and pitch a tent from? Thanks

  19. We have laundry services provided for you if that is the issue. Concerning the ‘times from camp to venues’ these were an estimate, apologies if this was inaccurate. You can be on site as of 12pm.

  22. Martin says:

We are thinking of coming down with 2 small kids (2 & 5) do you think it would be suitable? Also, is ther a size limit for the pitches?

  23. Florence says:

We have a transporter van, are we able to pay for a pitch and sleep in the van?

    Many thanks.

  24. Sorry we are tent only, you are not allowed to sleep in anything with an axle, you may park up and pitch a tent?

  25. Hi, all our sites are a mix of families and teenagers, single and married, however everyone is there to enjoy the Olympics. As a result we expect a good bunch, and a good atmosphere so I would recommend the site to you :)

The size limit for pitches is 4m x 4m.
