100 days to go and Games Makers still don’t know their shifts!

Match Day Centres - Walthamstow

Match Day Centres – Walthamstow

With only 100 days left to go until the Olympics the games are now in sniffing distance and accommodation is getting booked up FAST!

It’s an exciting milestone in the Olympic build up and we are already seeing an influx in bookings from ticket holders all over the world who can’t afford to fork out the hugely inflated hotel prices, or the extortionate cost of rental properties or even the cost of luxury glamping sites. In fact the influx in demand has been so high that we have now opened our 9th site specifically for the Olympic period at the Match Day Centres in Walthamstow, only a 20 minute bus ride from the Olympic Park!

However for Games Makers securing accommodation is a bit more difficult. We have found that many Games Makers are still unsure about when their shifts will be, so they are making the most of the flexi-camp package. However we have also found that those Games Makers who do know their shifts have now discovered that they may actually be working in the two weeks prior to Olympic Games or in the period between the Olympics and Paralympics. Currently their is little camping accommodation available on these dates – and we want to help! Therefore we are liaising with our campsites to find out how feasible it is to extend our opening dates, providing they do not exceed the 28 day allowance. But to find how feasible this is we need to hear from Games Makers about when your shifts are so we have created a facebook poll and would like to ask that you take part and share this with any Games Makers you may know!
The poll is really important to establish what days people will need most as we are limited in how long we can open for, so please spread the word! For more information on Camping at the Games please click here and if you are planning to make a booking we advise that you do this sooner rather than later!

I am potentially going to be working for G4S at the games and paralympics. As accommodation is not provided would I be able to take advantage of the gamesmakers deal. I wont know my shifts until probably the end of June. Are there laundry facilities available and is can you park next to your tent

  2. Yes, you can. Not sure which campsite you are looking at but best to book now as space is running out. Also, laundry = yes, parking by your tent = no!
