You can get involved in the 2012 Olympic action even if you haven’t got tickets!

You may not have Olympic tickets but that doesn’t mean you can’t get involved in the action as there will be a whole host of non-ticketed sports events and cultural activities taking place as part of the London 2012 celebrations!

Check out non-ticketed London events

There are a number of non-ticketed events for the games including the Marathon, 50km Road Race, 20 km Road Race, Road Cycling, Time Trials and more! During the games, London Live, the UK’s biggest free celebration of the games will also be taking place across sites all over London, offering a host of entertainment including live music and outdoor arts as well as showing live coverage of the medal events! Also the Olympic Museum, a free exhibition about the Olympic Journey, will be open from the 27th July – 12th August at the Royal Opera House.

And what’s even better is that you can see these things without paying extortionate sums of money for accommodation in London during the games as we now have 7 temporary campsites all in close proximity to the free events, for only £10 per night for adults and £5 for children!

Eton Manor RFC and Blackheath Rugby, SE London: Both these sites are located at the heart of the games in easy reach of the Waltham Forest and Woolwich London Live sites! They are a great place to come for those hoping to soak up some of the Olympic fever and are in easy reach of the Olympic Park if you are keen to do a tour or walk (prices and availability online).

The college is set on the stunning Jurassic coastline and the sports hub is less than 2 miles further out, both are really accessible to Weymouth Town Centre and the beach where there will be a range of cultural activities during the games, including Weymouth’s very own opening ceremony! There are also many spectacular sites to explore throughout Dorset, so why not take the opportunity to investigate!

Surbiton Hockey Club, West London: Surbiton is located on the outskirts of London close to some fabulous green spaces including, Bushy Park and Hampton Court Gardens where the Time Trials will be taking place, in fact the Time Trials almost head directly through Surbiton. This club is also easily accessible to Central London if you want to watch the Marathon, Road Cycling, or visit the Olympics Museum or the most iconic London Live sites in Hyde Park, Victoria Park or Trafalgar Square!

Wodson Park: Situated in the picturesque town of Ware, it only takes 45 minutes to get to the Olympic Park and less than an hour to Central London where you can catch the non-ticketed events and visit the London Live sites! This club is perfect for families who want to soak up some of the action in a more relaxed environment that is easily accessible from the M25!
