Camping at the Games is delighted to announce that online bookings are now open to anyone planning to book their camping ahead of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games this summer! Bookings have already been open for one week to those who have pre-registered and campers are already flying in, so we suggest you secure your spot fast!
All of our sites are secure, so tents can remain erected at all times and we have only selected sports clubs with the right facilities in place and access to local amenities, to enable campers to have a great stay! So far we have 3 sports clubs on board to provide great value camping in close proximity (30-60 minutes via public transport door to door) to the major Olympic and Paralympic venues, including; Reading RFC, Blackheath Rugby and Wodson Park and what’s great about these sites is that there really is something for everyone, including bundles of atmosphere!
Reading RFC – great for: Eton Dorney, Wimbledon, Earls Court, Lords, The Mall, Hyde Park, Horse Guards Parade
Blackheath Rugby – great for: Royal Artillery Barracks, Olympic Park, Excel, Greenwich Park, North Greenwich Arena, Hyde Park, Horse Guards Parade, The Mall
Wodson Park – great for: Lee Valley White Water Centre, Olympic Park, Excel, The Mall,
This week our sites have received an overwhelming response from the media and we were invited to speak to BBC Berkshire, BBC London and were discussed by Visit London on BBC West Midlands– an impressive start to the campaign! We are extremely grateful for the support as Camping at the Games goes beyond providing affordable accommodation; it’s about community sports clubs benefitting from the Olympic legacy by reinvesting camping fees into grass roots sports!
